A champion female boxer has been given a funding boost as she chases her Commonwealth Games and Olympics dream.
Brooke Neely, who boxes with Irvine Vineburgh Boxing Club, was this week presented with a cheque for £1,000 from Cunninghame Housing Association (CHA) as part of a three-year sponsorship.
Brooke, of Ardrossan, was recently selected by Scotland to attend a 10 days sparring camp in Serbia and is the youngest member of the Boxing Scotland Elite Boxing Group.
The 16-year-old, a two-times British champion, splits her training between Irvine Vineburgh and the Boxing Scotland high performance centre in Bridgeton, Glasgow.
John Kelly, chairperson of CHA said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Brooke who is a great ambassador for her sport.”

Prior to Covid-19 restrictions, Brooke was called up by her country to compete at the European Schools Championships in Tblisi, Georgia in 2019.
Her goal is to compete at the Commonwealth Games in 2026 as well as the 2028 Olympics.
The funding for Brooke came from the association's “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund” which operates throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the allocated funding is exhausted.
