Shocking pictures have revealed the damage to a school bus after it was attacked by yobs in Ayr today.
The bus full of Ayr Academy pupils was targeted as it passed another secondary school in the town.
An image taken by a frightened passenger shows the windscreen smashed in front of the driver after an object was thrown at it with force.
Pupils were left in shock after a loud bang was heard to the front of the bus outside Kyle Academy on Overmills Road.
The driver then pulled over at another bus stop before travelling to drop-off at villages.
A stunned passenger told Ayrshire Live: “Over the past two weeks, every time we have passed Kyle Academy there has been a gang throwing things that has hit the bus.
“Today we are driving past the same stop and they did again – but this time it was a really loud bang, everyone could hear it and we all just sat up.

“If it went any harder it could have hit somebody. It was quite scary, everyone just jumped and shouted. We all got a fright.”
A concerned parent has also hit out at the “disgusting” actions of those responsible.
A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Council said: "We are aware of the incident and we are in contact with the police."
Ayrshire Live has contacted Police Scotland but they were unable to confirm a report of the incident at this time.
Keenans of Ayr were unavailable for comment.
