Chefs at an Irvine harbour restaurant and takeaway reckon they have created a mouthwatering pick-me-up for disappointed Scotland fans.
After losing yesterday's Euro 2020 opener 2-0 to the Czech Republic, The Niche decided to whip up a unique twist on a classic Scottish flavour profile to put a smile back on punters' faces.
Stevie C's Tartan Topper burger is stacked with succulent grilled chicken, Arran mustard cheese, Ayrshire bacon and drizzled in Buckfast BBQ sauce.
And balanced atop the bun is a BATTERED Caramel Wafer.
Served with haggis and Arran mustard cheese sauce fries and crispy onions, bosses believe this is just the tonic for deflated Tartan Army members.
The burger creation is the invention of The Niche's head chef Iain Armour.
Manager Kenny Hepburn told Ayrshire Live: "After yesterday's severe disappointment we decided to pick ourselves up in true Scottish style.
"We had two special Scotland-themed burgers lined up for yesterday's game but due to the awkward kick-off time and being busy with bookings we decided to hold off until today's two-for-one deal.
"And we've decided to keep our second burger a surprise for Friday's Scotland vs England game."
The ingredients for the highly-anticipated burger, set to launch on Friday, have not been revealed.
However, Ayrshire Live understands it will be named The Lion Rampant burger.
