Ayrshire restaurant stops selling popular dish as part of menu overhaul

Buzzworks have axed one of their most famous dishes as part of a radical menu overhaul.

The Ayrshire hospitality chain has called time on the Thai spiced breast of chicken after more than a decade of being served in their venues.

Bosses have confirmed that the popular dish has been axed from their menus as part of a shake-up of their food offering.

We told you earlier this month that the executive team from the hospitality firm challenged themselves during lockdown to reinvigorate their offering, injecting new flavours and dishes onto the menu, while modernising and enhancing venue favourites.

During lockdown chef director Trevor Garden, family founder and operations director Alison Blair and executive head chef Laurent Labede cooked up a number of changes for menus and recipes.

Some of the new menu items include yuzu-cured salmon, vegan nagasaki crunch, churrasco wood-fired chicken and boa buns with crispy duck or miso glazed vegetables.

And while the famous Thai spiced breast of chicken will no longer feature on main menus, it's understood that the classic dish will occasionally feature on some venue's specials board.
