Ayrshire restaurant launches Electric Melon Mad Dog cocktail - by popular demand

An Irvine restaurant has launched a classy new cocktail - with Mad Dog 20/20 as a main ingredient.

Niche, in the town's Montgomery Street, have used the flavoured fortified wine to create Watermelon Daiquiris - the latest addition to their impressive drinks menu.

General manager Kieran Hughes revealed the tipple was back by popular demand after a limited edition run in April.

And he's hopeful that it will become a permanent fixture at the restaurant if customers continue to lap up the thirst quencher.

He said: "We first introduced it when the new Electric Melon Mad Dog flavour came out and it flew off the shelves.

"We got 12 bottles in for the re-launch and they've almost gone already.

"Thankfully we're able to buy it in block just now and if we can keep it coming from suppliers then hopefully it can stay on the menu. People seem to love it."
