Ayrshire remembrance parade changes announced as public are asked to stay away

The Kilwinning branch of the Royal British Legion have announced changes to this year’s Remembrance Day parade — and members of the public are asked not to attend due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The branch has arranged a short service of Remembrance and invites one person from each local organisation to lay a wreath at the cenotaph in the cemetery at Glasgow Road.

Face masks must be worn at all times and participants are asked to attend at 10.40am.

A spokeswoman said: “The branch takes no responsibility for members of the general public who are advised not to attend due to the current restrictions .

“We ask the general public to comply with the restrictions in place.”
