Ayrshire police respond to almost 2500 calls in a week including 99 road crashes

Ayrshire police have responded to almost 2500 calls in the last week.

They revealed on Monday that in the last seven days they processed 2340 calls, of which 487 were emergency 999 calls.

This led to 532 crime reports being recorded.

A total of 99 of the calls were road crashes in the area, and they dealt with 54 missing person reports.

And 285 reports were created on the police’s vulnerable persons database, allowing them to share concerns with partners.

A total of 83 domestic incidents were reported.

●The police’s special constables played a huge part in their work this week with 13 of them volunteering for more than 128 hours between them.
