Ayrshire police probe after series of vehicle break-ins leads to over £1000 worth nicked

Kilmarnock and the Irvine Valley has been hit by a series of vehicle break-ins, police have revealed this week.

Power tools worth a four-figure sum were nicked from a van parked in Darvel’s Hutchison Drive.

The costly break-in took place between 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 14 and 6.40am on Wednesday, January 15.

A two-figure sum of cash was then stolen from a car on Kilmaurs’ East Park Drive on Tuesday, January 21 at around 2.50am.

Meanwhile, two motors were also targeted in Hillmoss, Kilmaurs between 11pm on Monday, January 20 and 3.30am on Tuesday, January 21.

Sums of cash were taken from the vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with officers at Kilmarnock police station on the non-emergency 101 number.

Motorists are advised not to keep valuables in their vehicles when they are unattended.
