Almost £6,000 worth of tools have been stolen after crooks targeted vehicles in Dreghorn.
Police say three vehicles were broken into between Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26.
Power tools were nicked from a Volkswagen van parked in Marble Avenue and a Ford Transit van in Iona Court.
A chainsaw was stolen from another Ford Transit in Stroma Court.
Thieves also tried to make off with a catalytic converter from a Honda vehicle at the rear of Bute Court in the early hours of Saturday.
Police are now reminding people to remove valuables from vehicles and ensure they are secure.
PI Dolan, locality policing inspector, said: “Nearly £6,000 worth of tools have been stolen in these incidents – this will undoubtedly have a detrimental effect on the victim's ability to work and earn a living.
“We are committed to working with the community to tackle crime in the area and would appeal to anyone with any information on these incidents or indeed anyone who may have been offered tools for sale recently to make contact with us.”

Officers have issued the following tips on vehicle safety to motorists...
- Where possible, remove all tools and other property from the vehicle and keep them at home, in a garage or work premises overnight.
- If you are parking on the street, try to park in a well-lit area and consider whether there is CCTV coverage.
