An Irvine mum gave birth in the shower as paramedics talked her stunned partner through a DIY delivery over the phone.
Taylor Penman, 24, realised it was too late to get to hospital when she spotted her baby's foot sticking out.
Hero other-half Stuart Tyrie was forced to deliver daughter Eve himself — with a little help from medics.
The 34-year-old kept his cool to remove the umbilical chord around the little one's neck before tying a knot in it with his shoelace as paramedics passed instructions down the phone.
The drama unfolded at the couple's Castlepark home in the early hours of July 6 — two-and-a-half weeks before first-time mum Taylor's due date.
She told Ayrshire Live: "We were in absolute shock as you can imagine.
"The whole thing happened over four hours.
"I'd went to bed feeling absolutely fine but I woke up at around 3.30am and my waters had broken.
"We phoned the hospital and they said we could check in at 8.30am.

"That was fine because these things can take a while.
"I started getting contractions at around 4am so I thought I'd go for a bath. They soon become really intense.
"We phoned the hospital again and they asked me to time the contractions — they got to the stage they weren't even a minute apart.
"We were told to just phone for an ambulance. I went for a cold shower and I just remember feeling this really intense pressure.
"I looked down and could see a wee foot dangling. The baby had flipped position and was breech. It's the last thing I expected."
Stuart was soon back on the phone where paramedics gave him the daunting news that he'd have to deliver the baby himself.
Taylor went on: "He was chalk white but he managed to keep himself calm and coped really well in the circumstances!
"We just had to let Eve come out herself. We couldn't pull her.

"Stuart caught her and got the umbilical chord off around her neck. The paramedics asked him to tie it until they arrived and he used one of his shoelaces.
"We rubbed Eve with a towel and it was a huge relief when she started crying. When the paramedics arrived at the house they said she had done really well given everything that happened."
Eve was officially born at 7.33am, weighing a healthy 7lbs 10ozs and mum, dad and baby are all doing well a week on.
Taylor admits the traumatic experience initially put her off the idea of having any more children.
But she added: "We'll see. Eve is such a wee cutie after all.
"Everyone has been absolutely doting on her. I think she must be the most spoiled baby in the world."
