Ayrshire man in court after sending 70 abusive messages his ex

An Ayrshire man who sent offensive messages to his former partner has appeared in court.

Michael Graham labelled his ex a “fat c***” and a “fat b******” in a tirade of around 70 Facebook messages directed at the woman.

She was forced to phone police due to the volume of abusive comments which she received on October 22.

Graham, aged 48 of Milton Road, Kilbirnie, appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court where he admitted sending the messages.

Prosecutor Vicky McMillan told the court: “The accused and the complainer were in a relationship for approximately four years.

“In the early hours, the complainer woke to find approximately 70 Facebook messages from the accused’s Facebook profile.

“These were abusive, they referred to her on various offensive terms such as ‘fat c***’ and ‘fat b******’ and swearing throughout.”

Ms McMillan added: “On reading them, they do not make much sense but referred to her in such terms over and over again.

“Due to the content and the number of them, police were contacted and the accused was arrested.”

Graham’s defending agent told the court: “The relationship had come to an end and it seems to me that Mr Graham has not taken this too well.

“He has, for want of a better description, gone on a bender.

“He woke up in the early hours of the morning and saw fit to send these messages. There’s no getting away from the fact that they are abusive.”

Sheriff Alastair Watson fined Graham £300.
