Ayrshire knife yob stabbed dog

Cruel Sean McKay, 19, repeatedly stabbed American bulldog Hooch on the body in the savage attack.

A jury found the teen unanimously guilty of causing the protected animal unnecessary suffering by repeatedly striking him on the body with a knife.

The inhumane attack occurred on February 5 at Chestnut Drive in Girvan.

And McKay was said to be on bail at the time, having been granted such just days earlier on January 16 at Falkirk Sheriff Court.

McKay was also found guilty by a majority of another charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing at his partner Melissa Johnstone, Nicole Allison and Kayleigh Johnstone.

The charge states cruel McKay deliberately injured Ms Johnstone’s dog Hooch.

The diet was adjourned for social work reports.

McKay, a prisoner of Polmont, will reappear at a later date for sentencing.

He was ordered to be detained in custody until then.
