Ayrshire takeaway shops have been named among the best in Scotland at national awards this week.
The first ever Scottish Takeaway Awards celebrate local takeaways up and down the country in terms of taste and feedback from the communities they serve.
Foodies had the chance to nominate their favourite takeaway for an award and the Ayrshire winners are:
Kebab Takeaway of the Year Overall Winner: Viking Cafe, Kilwinning
Sandwich Shop of the Year South West: Hogan's Sandwich Bar, Kilmarnock
Fish N’ Chips Takeaway of the Year South West: Dino’s, Ayr
Curry Takeaway of the Year South West: Zain’s Curry House, Dalry
Takeaways have been around for so long and are an integral part of our high streets and our culture.
There is no doubt that it is a fast-growing sector and will continue to shake up Scotland’s economy as more and more food entrepreneurs chose to provide food on the go and delivery services.
Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Scotland are recognised for providing unique dishes, creating a true gastronomic paradise.
