Ayrshire hotel owner's plans to build new homes on venue's car park

A bid has been launched to transform part of an Ayrshire hotel's car park into homes.

Fenwick Hotel owner Henry Fitzsimmons plans on turning his venue's overspill car park into brand new houses.

The Ayrshire hotelier wants to build four detached homes on the hotel grounds.

Blueprints show the four-bed dwellings would face the road entrance to the hotel on Kilmaurs Road.

The site size, which can hold 60 car park spaces, amounts to 1,432 square metres.

Mr Fitzsimmons took charge of the Fenwick Hotel in 2019.

The entrepreneur is in charge of the family-run business he established decades ago — The Fitzsimmons Group.

The firm counts The Brisbane House Hotel in Largs, The Riverside Lodge in Irvine, and Premier Leisure and Oscars bar and grill in Saltcoats among their venues.

East Ayrshire planners will rule on the planning application at a future date.
