Irvine Vics boss Brian McLuckie has heaped praised on the club for ensuring his players still get paid through the coronavirus crisis.
The Westenders have furloughed their playing staff meaning the UK government will cover 80 per cent of their weekly wages.
The club are stumping up the remaining 20 per cent - a move McLuckie insists deserves to be applauded in the current climate.
He said: “It’s no secret our players don’t earn much but it means than even those on a tenner will get something.
“I'm not sure how many other Junior clubs are doing the same but for me it’s a terrific gesture from the club.”
