Ayrshire 'Fireworks Extravaganza' bid scrapped due to safety concerns

A bid to bring 'Ayrshire's largest ever fireworks display' to Irvine has been scrapped over safety concerns, the Irvine Herald understands.

Thomsons Event Group, who recently put on a funfair in nearby Kilmarnock, had lodged plans to hold a special Fireworks Extravanganza at Irvine Moor on Friday, November 1.

A poster on their facebook page said the event would feature live entertainment, a massive funfair and the largest ever fireworks display in Ayrshire.

But the Irvine Herald understands it will now not go ahead because of safety concerns. It is believed licensing chiefs in North Ayrshire took issue with road traffic management plans.
