Ayrshire fire engine firm targeted during break-in at industrial estate as police launch probe

An Ayrshire fire engine firm was targeted during a break-in last week.

Emergency One Group Ltd in Cumnock were visited by yobs who tried to access their base in the Caponacre Industrial Estate on Saturday, April 17 at 10pm.

The firm manufactures, services and supports specialist Fire and Rescue Service appliances as well as ship products worldwide.

Last year Emergency One group stepped in to help the NHS by producing visors to help Ayrshire staff on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

A haulage business in the industrial estate was also targeted by crooks at the same time.

Cops have launched a probe into the break-in.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.05pm on Saturday, April 17, police received a report of a break-in at Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock.

"Enquiries are continuing."
