Ayrshire DJ goes viral with second 'Lockdown Anthems' show from his garden

An Irvine DJ has gone viral after pumping out dance anthems from his garden for the second Saturday night in a row.

More than 11,000 people watched Elliot Boyce's 'Lockdown Anthems' set live on Facebook between 6.30pm and 8.30pm tonight.

A staggering 2,700 comments were left on his feed as viewers raved about his banging choice of tunes - some watching and listening in from as far afield as Dubai.

Elliot was hit with a tsunami of shout-outs from music lovers and managed to battle through as many requests as he could before the time came to pack up his decks, smoke effects and disco lights.

In the last five minutes of the show, a peak of more than 800 people were watching live.

Elliot hit the headlines last week when the Irvine Herald reported on his inaugural set from his home in Girdle Toll.

He managed to get police onside after they investigated the noise with North Ayrshire's finest agreeing to let him play until 8.30pm at the latest.

Elliot explained he was doing it to raise people's spirits during the coronavirus crisis and to spread the 'Stay at Home' message.

And officers soon got in the party mood - even coming on the mic and turning on the blue flashing lights of their police van to provide the perfect backdrop to the music.

Elliot, who hit the headlines last April when his impromptu Easter bank holiday set at Irvine beach also went viral, is also planning the ultimate party for when lockdown ends.

He told the Herald: "I'm hoping to organise a massive beach/outdoor party for all the kids that missed their S6 prom and P7 leavers party once this all blows over.
