An Ayrshire comedian is back to doing what he does best – and he's raising money for good causes at the same time.
Delayed from early 2020, comedian and West FM Breakfast presenter Billy Kirkwood will bring his stand-up show 'THIS IS HAPPENING' fresh off a sell-out run at this year’s Edinburgh fringe to the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock next week for a night of laughter and chaos.
With comedy gigs, clubs and theatres all having been closed since March 2020, Billy will be bringing some special guests to join him on October 15 including Magic Circle magician Chris Dinwoodie, Glasgow comic Ian TC and more.
And this show takes on an extra personal meaning for the comic who will be donating a portion of ticket sales toward helping Covid recovery initiatives and charities in Ayrshire.
Billy said: “I don’t get the chance to gig at home in Ayrshire often and I just can’t wait.
"It’s felt like so long and for me unlike other comics, it’s just not a random date on a tour or a one-night stop to sell tickets.
"It’s coming home to have some fun and laugh with friends and family, and after the last 18 months all of us have had… it’s time for a laugh.
"Ayrshire crowds are some wildest, let’s blow the roof off the place”
Billy added: “I’d be nothing without the support I’ve received from folks in Ayrshire over the years, something that I’ve never forgotten and will always stay in my heart.
"In Ayrshire we try to hold each other up, so while its not enough… I hope it will help in some small way as come out of this horrible time.”
