Ayrshire College targeted by vandals during coronavirus lockdown

The Kilmarnock campus of Ayrshire College has been vandalised.

A window on the Hill Street building was smashed yesterday.

The attack took place at around 12.15am while students are currently away from campus because of the coronavirus.

Online speculation suggested that the incident was a break-in and that items were stolen from the facility.

However, bosses confirmed today that nobody broke into the building and nothing was taken.

An Ayrshire College spokesperson said: “We can confirm a window has been broken in the student services office of the Kilmarnock campus.

"This was an act of vandalism, not a break-in.

"We can see from our CCTV no one broke into the building and nothing was stolen. The building has now been secured.”
