Ayrshire chip shop reveals Robert Burns-inspired fritter in time for Bard's birthday

They changed the world last year with their deep-fried pickled onions.

Now a Kilmarnock chip shop is back with their take on the fritter – but with a special twist.

With Robert Burns' birthday taking place tomorrow, The Plaice to Be bosses wanted to do something a bit different.

Get your traditional Burns supper in the sea and say hello to the haggis fritter.

A departure from the usual fare consumed to mark the Bard's birthday, the haggis fritter is certainly a unique take.

The Stonyhill Avenue takeaway's creation is obviously thicker than a typical fritter.

And The Plaice to Be is selling their new fritter for £2.30 (single) or £4.50 for a supper, which includes a free can of juice.
