Ayrshire centre appeals for a new home for overlooked corn snake Capri

The Scottish SPCA in Ayrshire is appealing for a forever home for an 'overlooked' snake in their care.

The charity is making the appeal in the run up to Reptile Awareness Day on October 21.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity has been caring for Capri the corn snake for 430 days at their Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, making her their longest reptile resident.

Lynda Hourston, centre assistant manager, said: "Capri would make a great addition to a home, but sadly she keeps getting overlooked, as do many reptiles who come into our care.

"Poor Capri has been waiting over a year to find her forever home, after coming into our care when her owner sadly passed away.

"She is looking for an experienced owner who is aware of her care needs and has the time to continue handling her.

"She will also need a large vivarium and the correct set up to keep her happy and healthy.

"In light of Reptile Awareness Day coming up, we are hoping to find the perfect home for Capri. After spending so long in our centre, she deserves to finally find her happy ever after.”

If you think you could give Capri the home she has been searching for, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website:  http://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet
