They stand just 90 minutes from their first ever national cup final.
Not bad for a team who, until this season, had never won a game in knockout competition.
But this has been a year of giant strides – both on and off the park – for Ayr United’s women’s setup.
The Championship South side, led by coach Cammy Robertson, are quickly making waves in the women’s game just six years after their formation.
And as they prepare to take on Dundee side Dryburgh Athletic in the League Cup semi this Sunday, they know that plenty rides on the biggest game in their history.

Robertson admitted: “It’s an exciting moment for the whole ladies organisation.
“We’re at a stage just now where the team is starting to gain a level of outside interest they’ve not been used to before.
“That comes from success and is great for morale – and for the majority of the girls it is a whole new experience.
“As coaches our job is to keep their feet on the ground.”
Robertson, the former Dunfermline Ladies manager, knows this is new territory for his youthful Ayr side as they bid to reach the final at Falkirk Stadium.
But he added: “We feel we’re ready.

"The season so far has seen us defeat some very good teams and the cup run has been beyond all of our expectations.
“But we don’t want to stop here and pat ourselves on the back – we know if we play to our ability on Sunday we are capable of making this final.”
For star player Clare Docherty, the current progress is also a major thumbs up for the work being done off the pitch.
Clare, 33, spends her week heading up the United Academy’s Women’s and Girls section.
The former Rangers, Celtic, Killie and Motherwell star revealed: “The aim is to grow the women’s game at Ayr United from grassroots all the way up to the ladies team. We take in girls from as young as seven to build a clear pathway to the ladies team.

“It’s something I’m really passionate about, combining it with playing for our senior team each week.
“The calibre of player we now have here is at a level which allows us to really compete.
“Our approach now is so professional and girls from other teams are getting to hear about that and want to be part of Ayr United.”
Clare added: “Beating Killie to win the league in 2018 was a huge day for us but reaching the final on Sunday would top it.
“We’ve prepared as well as we can and will be staying in a hotel up in Dundee overnight before the game to get in the best possible build up.”
•The United ladies development side have also reached the final of the League Plate against Murieston on November 21.
