Ayr United goalkeeper banned for Kilmarnock toilet roll incident as club 'disappointed' after derby flashpoint

Ayr United goalkeeper Aidan McAdams has been banned for two matches - for throwing TOILET ROLL at Kilmarnock fans.

The incident occurred during October's Ayrshire derby at Somerset Park, the big Championship fixture of the round.

After a cagey game Killie were awarded a last-minute penalty which was converted by Oli Shaw.

That sent the Railway End into delirium, with a blue flare thrown onto the pitch.

The visiting fans also threw a roll of toilet paper and it's that which has earned the Ayr goalkeeper a ban.

McAdams threw the bog roll back at the visiting fans, earning him a citation from the compliance officer.

And he's now been banned for games against Morton and Hamilton after being found guilty.

United chairman David Smith told the Ayrshire Post: "We're disappointed with the outcome.

"Aidan is a boy of impeccable character who has done something after a last minute penalty winner scored in the first league Ayrshire derby at Somerset in 28 years.

"But we will accept the decision and move on."

United will call on a youth keeper from their academy to sit on the bench for tomorrow's crunch clash at Cappielow, with Charlie Albinson taking the gloves.
