Ayr United goalkeeper Aidan McAdams banned for two games after Kilmarnock toilet roll incident

Ayr goalkeeper Aidan McAdams has been carpeted with a two game ban - for lobbing a toilet roll back at Kilmarnock fans.

The United number one was cited by Hampden beaks who yesterday reviewed footage of Oli Shaw's last minute penalty winner on October 26.

McAdams was reported by the SFA's compliance officer for returning a loo roll which had been thrown on to the pitch from the away end.

It was among a number of objects - including smoke bombs - to be hurled from the Railway End following Killie's dramatic late winner.

But McAdams, who tossed the toilet paper back into the celebrating away support, has now been banned for Ayr's trip to Morton tomorrow and the visit of Hamilton next Friday.

He will be replaced by backup keeper Charlie Albinson.

United chairman David Smith told the Ayrshire Post: "We're disappointed with the outcome.

"Aidan is a boy of impeccable character who has done something after a last minute penalty winner scored in the first league Ayrshire derby at Somerset in 28 years.

"But we will accept the decision and move on."

United will call on a youth keeper from their Academy to sit on the bench for tomorrow's crunch clash at Cappielow.
