Ayr United fans and businesses urged to put their shirts on club as sponsorship draw launches

Ayr fans can put their shirts on United this season — with more sponsorship space than ever up for grabs on the team’s kit.

Five different slots for branding will be made available at the club’s annual shirt and shorts draw.

This year’s event will be broadcast from the newly revamped Somerset boardroom at 7pm on Tuesday, September 22.

Top prizes are space on the back of the home shirt, home sleeve, away sleeve, home shorts and away shorts.

A signed home kit and signed United ball will round off the prizes.

Commercial boss Graeme Miller said: "We’re gutted we can’t hold the event in its usual format as it’s a highlight of the summer.

"But never has the support and financial input of businesses and fans been more important than now.

"Our exposure continues to increase every year with our own highlights package, live TV coverage and the written press providing invaluable advertising opportunities.

"This makes the event more value for money than ever before."

United diehard Gordon McBlain, 58, was a previous winner who saw his G&S Bakery firm live the dream of gracing the United kit in 2005.

He said: "It was phenomenal for us and the best prize in the world to win."

Entry this year costs £200 per ticket or £300 for two shots, with three tickets in the draw costing £400.
