Ayr United's new fan facility could feature a beer garden, it has been revealed.
Work has begun to develop the 'Somerset Hub' outside the club's stadium.
And bosses are formulating exciting plans to make the most of the base moving forward.
It comes as they completed a deal to buy back the club's car park into their ownership.
United chairman David Smith told the Ayrshire Post: “I’m delighted to acquire the car park and rendezvous point from Allanvale Land Investments.
“The areas were sold over 10 years ago in an effort to keep the club afloat in what were difficult times.
“We are thankful to the Kirkwood family who stepped up in the club’s hour of need and bought the land at that time.
“Whilst the club doesn’t have the funds to do a capital purchase like this, I can facilitate it and having these areas in our control give us great options in terms of infrastructure and operations going forward.
“They will complement the Somerset Hub and initial ideas are that we could add a beer garden to the social club, site a garage to store our pitch equipment and tidy up the public realm area in the approach to the main stand.”
