Ayr Racecourse forced to abandon Tuesday fixture as Storm Ciara dumps more than two inches of rain on track

Horse racing at Ayr, scheduled to take place tomorrow, has fallen victim to Storm Ciara.

The February Raceday fixture has fallen foul of the weather after more than two inches of rain fell on the Craigie track between 5pm on Saturday evening and 6am on Monday on ground that was already described as heavy.

The course joined Southwell, Exeter, Lingfield, Catterick and Wetherby on the list of tracks forced to abandon between Sunday and Tuesday.

Ayr’s next fixture is Tennent’s Raceday on Saturday March 7.
