Ayr primary school hosts orienteering course to keep children healthy on lockdown

Kids couped up on lockdown have been set an outdoors challenge to keep them fit and healthy.

Forehill Primary’s school playground has been transformed into a makeshift orienteering course.

Children, tasked with finding ten trig points, also have to perform different physical tasks.

Those completing the project then post their efforts online.

David Watson, Forehill’s headteacher, said: “The orienteering is a great way to keep the children active during the lockdown.

“The Active Schools team came up with the idea and we were keen to get involved.

“It’s not only good physical exercise, it gets the children thinking too.

“The children love the challenge and we’ve had some great feedback from families.”
