A sick sex beast caught with over a thousand indecent images of children - some as young as three-months-old - has been jailed.
Cornelius Sharp, of Eglinton Place, Ayr, admitted being in possession of the indecent images which showed tots and teens engaging in sex with adult males and erotically posing.
At a previous hearing, Ayr Sheriff Court heard that first time offender Sharp, 45, was at work when police raided his home, which he shares with his parents, on January 3, 2019.
Officers seized a number of items, including Sharp’s personal silver iPhone.
The iPhone was transferred to a crime lab for analysis.
A total of 1452 indecent images of children were found.
The children in the photos were both boys and girls ranging from three months and 14-years-old.
The disgusting photos showed the children engaging in penetrative sex with adult males and erotically posing.
Indecent images fall into three categories of seriousness.
Category A relates to images involving penetrative sexual activity, sexual activity with an animal or sadism; category B images involve non-penetrative sexual activity and category C relates to indecent images of erotic posing and those which do not fall within categories A or B.
The court heard Sharp had 190 category A images; 217 category B and 1045 category C images.
Sheriff Colin Dunipace sentenced Sharp to 12 months behind bars. He was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
