For the first time in 118 years Ayr Racecourse is holding a race meet – without horses!
Human runners can run this historic track and finish under the gantry usually reserved for the top jockeys.
There are plenty opportunities for you and your family to take part, with shorter distances available for kids.
WHEN IS IT?
The first Ayr Classic Run takes place on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
The first run of the day is the Family One Mile suitable for ages 3-8 when accompanied by an adult. It starts at 10am.
It’s followed at 11am by the Junior Classic Run , a 3km version for runners aged 9-15.
Then the big one the 5 mile Classic Run itself – starts at 11:45am.

WHERE WILL IT BE HELD?
The Ayr Classic Run will be held at Ayr Racecourse.
Ayr Racecourse is 37 miles from Glasgow and 83 miles away from Edinburgh. It can be reached by the M77 motorway. There’s free parking at the course.
Ayr train station is under a mile away and is easily accessible from the course by foot.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It costs £16 to sign up to the Classic Run.
The Junior Classic Run is £6 for individual entry and the Family Run is £6 per team.
CAN I DO IT WITH MY COLLEAGUES?
Yes. There’s a Corporate Challenge for businesses who wish to compete together. The fastest business overall will win the Classic Corporate Challenge.
To enter it costs £64 per team and each team must consist of four people aged 15 and over.
