Ayoze Perez sparks full time bust up between Liverpool and Leicester stars

Ayoze Perez sparked ugly scenes at full time as Liverpool and Leicester's players had a brouhaha on the pitch after the whistle.

Foxes winger Perez made a bee-line for Andy Robertson after a dramatic end to the clash at Anfield, which Liverpool won 2-1, before he attempted to spar the Scotsman.

Adam Lallana and James Milner got in his way before the rest of the two sets of players piled in to try and avoid the situation escalating.

Perez was pulled away by Youri Tielemans, who had to lift him off the floor and shout in his ear to get him away from the hot spot.

Jamie Vardy then arrived to further calm the former Newcastle winger down before the duo approached assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis to discuss what sparked the melee.

Robertson calmly walked away from the incident and fist pumped to the Kop Stand.

Perez was still furious as he walked down the tunnel back to the dressing room as he was caught deep in a rant with Virgil van Dijk.

Brendan Rodgers explained in his post match interview that the incident started when Robertson pushed Perez.

And Jurgen Klopp said: “Andy Robertson celebrated on final whistle and pushed [Perez], which he probably didn't expect, which he was annoyed at.”

Liverpool needed a stoppage time penalty from Milner to take them eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Sadio Mane had slotted the Reds ahead in the first half before James Maddison had sensationally equalised - and set up a grandstand finish.

But after Marc Albrighton had tripped Mane in the box, Milner coolly converted and move to the Reds to a 17th straight league win.
