Police have launched an urgent appeal for information after an 11-year-old schoolgirl went missing in east London.

Tower Hamlets police reported news of Ayesha Naeem’s disappearance, saying they were “concerned” for her wellbeing.

The force also shared a photo of Ayesha in a Twitter post on Monday in a bid to help track her down.

Alongside the image they wrote: "We are concerned for 11 year old Ayesha, who is currently missing from the E1 area."

They added: "Any information or sightings, please contact us immediately on 101 or 999 quoting CAD 120/11NOV19."

The Standard has contacted Met police for further updates.
