Axel Witsel 'expects win' over Scotland as Belgium star criticises Steve Clarke's side

Belgium star Axel Witsel insists playing Scotland is a come down from their usual glamour fixtures, but is sure they will ease to an effortless win.

The FIFA Ranking's No.1 nation face the Scots next week, after entertaining Kazakhstan on Saturday in Brussels.

It seems to be a Herculean task for Steve Clarke and his new look side against the World Cup semi-finalists next week.

And Borussia Dortmund star Witsel admits Belgium's double-header isn't capturing his imagination.

He said: "It has to be said Scotland and Kazakhstan are not the most beautiful of opponents when it comes to football.

"But I don't regard these games as a chore because they are qualifiers and you have to play them.

"What's good about it is that it is the end of the season and we play both matches at home in Brussels in front of our fans.

"We obviously expect two victories and so do our fans before we go off on holiday.

"And I always love meeting up with the rest of the team."

Meanwhile, Belgian boss Roberto Martinez has warned his side to be wary of Kazakhstan because of what they did to Scotland.

The former Soviet nation humiliated Scotland in a 3-0 victory in the group opener and that's worried Martinez ahead of their game on Saturday.

He said: "I watched that game. The Kazakhstan players were like machines - they never stopped running all night.

"They are very dangerous as they showed against the Scots.

"We need to concentrate and do or jobs professionally."
