- Southport killer Axel Rudakubana has been charged with three counts of assault on prison staff and possession of an offensive weapon while incarcerated at HMP Belmarsh.
- The Metropolitan Police stated that these alleged assaults took place in 2025, with one specific incident in May 2025 involving Rudakubana reportedly pouring boiling water from a kettle over a prison officer.
- Rudakubana is currently serving a 52-year prison sentence for the murders of seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, six-year-old Bebe King, and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar.
- These murders occurred during a Taylor Swift -themed dance class in July 2024, where he also injured eight other children and two adults.
- He was charged on 28 July and is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court via videolink on 11 September to face the new allegations.
