Axed Emmerdale actress Shila Iqbal missing from Big Night Out episodes as exit 'airs'

Emmerdale viewers are convinced axed Emmerdale actress Shila Iqbal’s final episode has aired as character Aiesha Richards.

Manpreet’s daughter Aiesha was missing from the latest episode as the soap aired its ‘Big Night Out’.

Despite planning the big event with the likes of Priya Sharma and Maya Stepney in attendance, she was a no-show with it claimed she had a “stomach bug”.

Emmerdale had confirmed after her axe that she would likely only appear for two more weeks in the Dales, after she stopped filming with the soap with immediate effect.

It’s now thought her final scenes have aired, with her last seen on-screen on April 18th and her not mentioned in any looming spoilers.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday after spotting her absence, viewers shared their theories over her disappearance.

One fan said: “Is Aisha gone for good? I know the actress was fired and its weird she isn't in tonight's big night out.”

Another commented: “They must have literally just filmed that scene about Aiesha having a stomach bug to explain why she’s not there.”

A third said: “So they swiftly got rid of Aiesha.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed the actress had been axed after historic ‘racist and homophobic’ tweets reemerged that she had posted when she was 18.

An Emmerdale spokeswoman confirmed news of her departure, stating: "As a consequence of historic social media posts Shila Iqbal has left her role as Aiesha Richards on Emmerdale.

"The programme took the decision not to renew her contract as soon as these posts were brought to the company's attention."

Shila spoke out on This Morning this week, claiming there was no “malicious intent” behind her past tweets, while insisting she doesn’t use or condone that kind of language now.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
