Officers from West Yorkshire Police recovered a huge axe that was thrown from a car during a pursuit in Chapeltown on Easter Sunday, April 12.

In a tweet from Operation Jemlock officers the force said: "Even when the country is on lockdown, people are still carrying weapons like this on the streets of Leeds.

"Op Jemlock Officers seized this after it was thrown from a vehicle in the Chapeltown area during a pursuit. #OPJEMLOCK."

Operation Jemlock is focused on tackling serious, violent crime and knife enabled crime across West Yorkshire.
