Awkward moment for Ant and Dec as I'm A Celebrity wins BAFTA

There was an awkward moment for TV duo Ant and Dec after I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! won best reality award at the BAFTAs.

The ITV show was announced as the winner of the best reality and constructed entertainment prize on Sunday night (May 12).

However, Ant McPartlin stepped down from his usual presenter role last year, following a conviction for drink driving.

Declan Donnelly was joined by Holly Willoughby instead during the latest series of I'm A Celebrity.

Ant and Dec were nominated together for ITV1's Saturday Night Takeaway in the best presenter category, while Britain's Got Talent won best entertainment programme at Sunday's ceremony - but this particular award wasn't for Ant, reports Chronicle Live .

It first appeared to be an uncomfortable moment when Ant had to join the team on stage, but the pair managed to turn it into a joke.

Clapping Holly on the back, Ant shepherded her towards the podium to claim the prize.

Turning to Holly, Dec laughed "oh yes, you were in it weren't you?"

Accepting the award, he then said: "Wow, wow... Thank you BAFTA, thank you ITV for your continued support, thank you everyone.

"This obviously goes to a very hard and dedicated production team both her and in Australia, our crew in Australia work incredibly hard.

"I'd like to say thank you to Holly for helping me out last year, who did a fantastic job standing in for Ant, who has reluctantly come up here tonight, there he is, because he's still part of the team obviously, so we wanted him up here to celebrate with us as well."
