Awkward moment a Britain's Got Talent act revealed his fiancée is pregnant on live TV - and their families had no idea

Britain's Got Talent finalist Jacob Jones made viewers cringe when he announced that he and his fiancée are expecting a baby on the live semi-final, before sharing the important news with their families.

Jacob, who popped the question to Faye Compton during his BGT audition, followed the romantic moment from earlier this month to reveal that they're to become parents again.

The crooner, who performed Van Morrison's Have I Told You Lately, stopped hosts Ant McParlin and Declan Donnelly in their tracks when he said he had another announcement to make.

"Since our audition our family don't know but me and Faye are having a baby," he said.

Dec clasped his hand to his forehead at the news and as the camera panned to show Faye's reaction in the audience she looked stunned as a man seated beside her held his head in his hands.

"If he gets to the final  what the hell will he reveal there?" wondered Ant and Dec.

"I'm the king of surprises, sorry," said Jacob.

"Jacob Jones well that’s was awkward to watch," said one viewer on Twitter.

"Soz pal, far too cringe for my liking," said another.

"Propose, that’s fine, but announcing a baby on a stage before you’ve told your family seems a tad selfish to me," another viewer commented.

"That’s something I'd want to do with my spouse not watch him tell the world."

In his audition Jacob sang Joe Cocker's You Are So Beautiful to the judges and got five yeses when Faye said 'yes' to his proposal after he got on one knee and popped the question, following his performance of You Are So Beautiful.

He said: "I love you literally more than anything and I’m so happy that you believe in me and that you did this for me and I wanted to ask you something, so, Faye Compton will you marry me?’"
