'Awkward' Dancing on Ice moment after Phillip Schofield comment on lift

It was another dramatic week for the stars of ITV 's Dancing on Ice 2022.

There were reports of "nasty " falls in training, tumbles in the show and, of course, the usual staging showpieces to marvel at - this week the effects included fireballs - but it was a swipe at Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor that got fans talking.

In the latest show, the judges' challenge was for Sally Dynevor to include a lift without an assist.

Alongside skating partner Matt Evers, the couple danced to The Sound of Music soundtrack as part of musical week, but when it came to the lift, Sally didn't quite make it.

Sally was due to go solo as part of her lift, but she failed to do so, which was promptly picked up by the hosts, reported Daily Star.

As the Dancing on Ice judges gave their less-than-impressive scores, Phil reminded Sally that she was challenged with a lift this week as he said: "But assisted jumps, you didn't want to let go?"

Sally appeared taken aback over Phil's quip and said: "No, I know I didn't," as her partner immediately chimed in and shouted that she is a "national treasure".

The awkward moment was soon picked up by fans. One social media user wrote: "Ooh Phil doesn't like Sally?"

While another said: "Looks like even Phil is sick of Sally," a third added: "Hahaha I love how Phil says it how it is."

Sally had confessed on the show that she was desperately hoping to impress Arlene Phillips, who had given her the lowest score from the judges at 5/10.

She looked disappointed as she was given the score.

Sally Dynevor and Bez have both been facing quite a lot of online backlash due to them staying in the competition, resulting in Bez apologising to other celebrities in the show.

However, attempts are being made by the pair to branch out, with Sally's hesitation in her lift likely to be related to a savage fall she had during the week.

Matt posted a picture of their fall on his Instagram stories in the week in which Sally looked vastly in pain.

Sally posted it herself and wrote: "Please God this doesn't happen on Saturday."

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
