Awesome video shows how ‘Beep Baseball’ helps the visually impaired play the game

Anybody can play baseball.

A great feature video from MLB’s Cut4 dropped on Thursday, which detailed how a game called “Beep Baseball” has helped blind and visually impaired individuals play the game of baseball.

The game is similar to your traditional baseball in the sense that there’s a batter trying to hit a pitch. But in beep baseball, the batter — who tracks the pitch by the beeping sound of the baseball — either runs to first or third upon contact. The players in the field try to catch or retrieve the ball before the runner reaches a bag. That’s how an out gets recorded.

The entire video is worth a watch, and it shows just how great beep baseball is as an option for the visually impaired to participate in team sports.

Really, well done.
