Tottenham are making up for lost time this summer after two windows without signing players and now they have been linked with former Barcelona star Dani Alves.
The Brazilian defender has become a free agent after departing Paris Saint-Germain and there is interest in him across Europe.
Spurs have become the latest club alongside Arsenal to be linked with a move for the 36-year-old, who has no intention to retire from football just yet.
In fact, it's understood that Alves is seeking another contract and sports journalist Duncan Castles has reported that Spurs are looking into acquiring him as a free agent following the departure of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid.
However, there are a couple of reasons why this transfer report has not exactly whipped Spurs fans up into a frenzy.
Social media reaction from Tottenham supporters has pointed to two clear issues behind any potential move. The fanbase are worried about Alves' age and there are serious doubts a transfer would even be possible due to the player's wage demands.
Whilst some are hopeful of a deal, others believe the link to be a non-starter.
The 36-year-old would certainly add experience to the backline, but he is not a typical Mauricio Pochettino signing.
