Away day misery predicted to continue for Nottingham Forest at Leeds

A whole raft of new signings will not be able to help Nottingham Forest avoid defeat at Leeds United on Saturday afternoon, according to a man who played for both clubs.

David Prutton expects Leeds to run out 2-0 winners in front of a sell-out Elland Road crowd, leaving Forest staring down the barrel of two consecutive defeats to start the Championship season for the first time since 1971/72 – a year they played in the top flight.

It might be a new manager tasked with getting Forest winning away from home, but it’ll be the same old problems on the road, according to Sky Sports' Prutton writing in his latest column.

Forest have won just once away from the City Ground in the last 14 attempts, with that sole success coming at QPR in their final road trip of last season under Martin O’Neill – seven of those outings were defeats.

“Leeds got started with a bang against Bristol City, with Pablo Hernandez in typically brilliant form at Ashton Gate,” Prutton began.

“Patrick Bamford also scored and it will great to see how Eddie Nketiah gets on under Marcelo Bielsa.

“Nottingham Forest fell to defeat in their first game under Sabri Lamouchi, and their young goalkeeper Aro Muric had a bit of a nightmare against West Brom.

“They will hope to bounce back from that, but I can’t see past this being a home win,” he said.
