Following the success of the recent #OurHealthHeroes campaign, Skills for Health has joined forces with the National Skills Academy for Health and Unison in the launch of the Our Health Heroes Awards 2016.
The new awards have been created to acknowledge the significant contribution made by the support workforce who play a crucial role in delivering patient care and ensuring the efficiency of our healthcare system.
The awards aim to continue the celebration of the 798,600 people across the UK health sector who work in roles including healthcare assistants, assistant practitioners, porters, cleaners, caterers, maintenance workers and administrative staff. Their colleagues, team leaders and supervisors are being encouraged to share their stories and give them the recognition they deserve.
Entrants can be nominated for one of two awards:
- Clinical support worker of the year
- Operational services worker of the year
Entry
Skills for Health is encouraging managers, supervisors, Unison branch reps or colleagues to nominate those who they feel go that extra mile.
Winners will be selected from all over the UK to represent their regions in both categories and will be invited to attend the celebrations on the 29 November at the awards ceremony in London.
Deadline for entries is midnight on 29 September
