Award wins are not pie in the sky for West Lothian butcher

Boghall Butchers added yet another round of awards to their impressive number of wins over the years.

The popular family-run butchers took home a top award at the melton Mowbray British Pie Awards for one of their best-loved products.

The won in the Dessert Class Pie category for their tasty traditional Bramley apple pies, along with other medals after competing against almost 1000 other entries.

Owner Paul Boyle said: “We were delighted to win the class Champion for the dessert Category at the Melton Mowbray British pie awards .

“We also highly commended for a steak and Kidney pie and a gold award for our chicken Balmoral round and two other silver awards achievement and we are proud to bring this award back to our home town Bathgate.”

The awards are a celebration of the craft and skill of the British Piemaker.

There are 23 classes including Hot & Cold, Sweet and Savoury Pies.
