AN award-winning Scottish burger restaurant has been named one of the best in the world.
El Perro Negro, based in Glasgow, has been named number 56 on the inaugural World's 101 Best Burger Places list.
It is the only Scottish restaurant to appear on the list, which is produced by Upper Cut Media House, an agency described as "the international authority on burger excellence".
To produce the ranking, more than 1500 burgers are evaluated annually by an independent global network of culinary chefs, food journalists and certified meat specialists.
Burgers are judged on meat quality and provenance, cooking technique, burger composition, consistency, guest experience and ethical sourcing.
There is no application process and no entry fee, with inclusion based entirely on merit.
Also on the list are London-based Bleecker Burger and Hawksmoor, Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen, Tokyo's Wagyu Mafia and Amboy Quality Meats in LA.
El Perro Negro was founded in 2014 and is located on 152 Woodlands Road.
People can also try their burgers at the Bonnie & Wild food hall in Edinburgh.
The restaurant has already been crowned the UK's Best Burger at the National Burger Awards twice, in 2019 and 2021, with founder Nick Watkins named UK Burger Chef of the Year in 2025.
Watkins said: "We've never been interested in shortcuts or gimmicks. We try to keep things simple - source the best beef and ingredients we can and put them together with care.
“To be recognised on a list like this – alongside some of the best burger restaurants in the world - is a real validation of all our hard work. It means so much.”
A statement on the restaurant's social media added: "We’re beyond thrilled to be ranked alongside so many incredible international names that we love and look up to. Still can’t quite believe it!
"A massive thank you for the nod and also to our amazing team for their hard work. It means so much."
El Perro Negro will also feature at Meatopia between June 12-14.
The event, which is the UK's most celebrated open-fire food festival, will take place at SWG3.
