Award-winning former Daily Record sports photographer Craig Halkett dies aged 68

A former sports photographer with the Daily Record has died aged 68.

Craig Halkett started with the paper as a teenager in 1968, working in its Glasgow office dark rooms as he learned his trade.

He returned to the Record in the 80s and went on to cover football World Cups before leaving to go freelance in 2008.

A grandfather of six and great-grandfather of one, Craig died suddenly on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.
