An award-winning production plant is back up and running.
Rowan Glen in Palnure ceased production last year as owners Dale Farm Ltd wound down operations, with the majority of the 48 staff losing their jobs.
But the plant near Newton Stewart is now under new ownership, with production resuming last week.
A statement said: “We wish to advise our customers that our fantastic quality Rowan Glen yoghurts are back in production at Newton Stewart. Shoppers in Scotland will start to see product back on the shelves at selected retailers this week.
“We are currently working hard to regain shelf space with all retailers and would love our loyal customers to come back on board together with new customers to support this iconic Scottish brand.”
News of the plant’s return to action was welcomed by Wigtown area committee chairman, Councillor Willie Scobie.
He said: “I am delighted to hear that the situation at Rowan Glen has had a positive outcome with the factory at Palnure remaining open.
“This may be with a reduced workforce but I’m sure it will build up and return to its original numbers of employees.
“I well remember a fish smoking factory facing similar circumstances of looking for alternative premises in the area and not finding them.
“That factory moved to Annan with a loss of 20 plus jobs in Newton Stewart but the business grew and now there are two factories in Annan.
“I hope the same will happen at Palnure with the dedicated and skilled workforce that is there. Newton Stewart needs all the jobs it can get.”
Rowan Glen was launched in 1993 before being bought by Dale Farm in 2002.
A statement on the Rowan Glen Facebook page added: “Following our recent closure we are now under new owners and working hard to get Rowan Glen products back on supermarket shelves.”
