Avril Lavigne has announced she is engaged to her boyfriend, fellow singer Mod Sun.
The 37-year-old star took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm that 35-year-old Mod Sun had proposed to her during a getaway to the city of love – Paris, France.
Mod Sun also confirmed the joyous news on Thursday (April 7), after Avril was seen with a glitzy rock on her wedding finger earlier on in the week.
Spotted in LA on Tuesday, Avril could be seen wearing a diamond ring – which got rumours swirling in an instant.
And now the couple of one year have confirmed the engagement by sharing a slew of loved-up snaps from their break away in Paris.
One of the photographs shows the singer close to the Eiffel Tower while down on one knee in front of Avril, while another shows off the impressive heart-shaped engagement ring he presented her with.
Penning a sweet caption for his bride-to-be, Derek – Mod Sun's real name – penned: "The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done.
"I had a dream where I proposed in Paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe.
"I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said 'will you marry me?' + she said 'yes'."
Before concluding the short piece of text with a simple: "I love you Avril."
Posting on her own Instagram account after her fiancé, the pop-punk singer penned: "Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours. Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022."
Kourtney Kardashian, who recently tied the knot with Travis Barker in Las Vegas, penned a simple red heart emoji below – clearly overjoyed for the pair.
While Avril's new husband-to-be said: "I love u so much! Forever n ever my angel."
One fan penned some of Avril's lyrics and said: "He was a boy, you were a girl. Can I make it anymore obvious? Congratulations!!"
And a second fan added: "I am beaming ear to ear!!!!!!!!!! So much to celebrate! YES."
In 2018 Derek, who is widely known as Mod Sun, was in a polyamorous relationship with Tana Mongeau and actress Bella Thorne, but the trio broke up and he then began a monogamous relationship with the latter.
The punk singer and actress became engaged, got married and then divorced – all within 15 months.
Soon after in 2020 he rekindled his romance with Tana and the pair began a monogamous relationship, which didn't last long and was over by the end of the year.
Avril, on the other hand, has been married and divorced on two separate occasions – to teen pal Deryck Whibley and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
The singer's most recent relationship was reported to be with billionaire Phillip Sarofim.
Mod Sun and Avril have been an item since 2021, with the pair getting engaged today – which means a wedding is likely to be on the cards very soon.
