Avram Glazer ignores Manchester United takeover question after FA Cup final

Avram Glazer ignored reporters when asked about the Manchester United takeover process at Wembley on Saturday evening.

The Glazers rarely make appearances at Old Trafford, but Avram Glazer attended the Carabao Cup final victory against Newcastle in February and he visited Wembley again this weekend to watch the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

As he exited the stadium, a journalist asked him: "Why are you not speaking to the fans, don't they deserve to know what is happening with the takeover?" Glazer ignored the question and left Wembley.

That was the second time, in the space of just a few weeks, that Glazer opted to be silent when asked about the takeover process, as the same happened when he watched the women's team at Wembley on May 14.

He was asked 'how long is the sale going to take?' on that occasion before ignoring the journalist and leaving the stadium.

The Glazers remain in talks to sell the club, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani of Qatar submitting offers.

Sheikh Jassim was the first prospective owner to publicly confirm a bid during the first round back in February and he was soon joined by Ratcliffe, Britain's richest man and Manchester-born owner of chemical company INEOS.

February's soft deadline was followed by a second deadline in March for those that progressed and the Raine Group, who have been brought in to oversee the sale, then asked interested parties for their third and final bid on April 28.

Glazer last attended a match at Old Trafford in September 2021 for Cristiano Ronaldo's return.
